Abstract

Iris recognition has been used for authentication for the past few years and is capable of positive/negative authentication of an individual without any physical contact or intervention. This technique is being used mainly because of its uniqueness, stability, and reliability but still many challenges are being faced an the iris based recognition system. This paper
presents the difficulties faced in different modules, like the sensor module, preprocessing module, feature extraction module,
and matching module of an iris biometric system.
