The properties of a thin-film cathode BYCF (Ba0. 08Y0. 04Co2. 5Fe0. 09O4-δ) layer prepared by spray pyrolysis between dense electrolyte (GDC10) pellets were studied. This paper presents the method for depositing the cathode material on the electrolyte, as well as its microstructure, electrical conductivity and AC impedance characteristics. The results showed that a layer with 20 µm thickness and high porosity was obtained using the spray pyrolysis technique. The microstructure showed excellent adherence on the electrolyte. The electrical conductivity and AC impedance measurements indicated these properties are a good candidate for cathode material with spray pyrolysis.
